Tools to Make the Internet Better

The following contribution is from another author.

The internet has done many great things for our lives. There are very few of us who do not depend on it in some way or another, and that is one of the reasons why it is so important to make sure that you are making good use of it. The more that you are able to use it well and effectively, the more you are going to get out of it, and that is going to be very good news indeed. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the gadgets and tools that you can use to make the internet easier and more fulfilling and beneficial to use. Any of these will achieve that.

Privacy Browser

Increasingly, as time goes on, it becomes more and more important to ensure that you are looking after your privacy when you are online. There are so many businesses out there that are looking to use your data and sell it on to the highest bidder, and much of this is not only dangerous to give away, but a little creepy too. One of the things you might want to do in order to try and overcome this issue is to use a privacy-based browser rather than one of the normal ones. Just about the worst to use would be Google Chrome – one of the best would be Firefox or DuckDuckGo, which comes with its own search engine which does not track you.

Voice Assistant

One of the most common things that people do with the internet is search, and the easier you can make that, the more likely it is that you are going to get a lot out of the web itself. One of the popular means of doing so at the moment is to use a voice assistant like the Google Home version or the Amazon Echo. You can even get Amazon Echo glasses if you want to make it even more a part of your life, so that is something to think about if you are keen on doing so.

VPN

Again, it is a good idea to try and be as anonymous online as possible. This is important not just for those who are doing things they shouldn’t – all of us should be ensuring that we are looking after ourselves in this basic way. You should get hold of a VPN – Virtual Private Network – and have it on at all times. That way, your IP is hidden, and although a good hacker would be able to eventually find you, essentially you are hidden in most cases. This will help to protect you against many kinds of fraud, identity theft, and other attacks that can happen online, and will help to stop Facebook and so on tracking you too. You might also research the best VPN for streaming. All of that is going to make a huge difference to your use of the web.

Two of the best VPNs right now are Surfshark and ExpressVPN. Please see this ExpressVPN vs Surfshark comparison article for more details about them. With these tools, you are going to find that the internet is a much better place to be.
