Creating the Perfect Minimal Kitchen

Creating the Perfect Minimal Kitchen

The following contribution is from another author.

The kitchen is one of the most important parts of the home. Whether you spend your time here making food for your family, you host dinner parties, or you enjoy game nights – it is a room of the house that is used often and should be a clean and spacious place.

To create a beautiful minimal kitchen, there are a few different things you will want to do. Your kitchen is an integral part of your home and today we want to show you how to make the perfect minimal kitchen design.

Choose a new floor

The first thing you will want to do when creating a new minimal kitchen design is hire a concrete contractor to lay a stunning polished concrete floor. Polished concrete is a sturdy type of flooring and one that stands the test of time, and can come in many different colours and finishes to suit your tastes and your needs. Consider this as a great way to vamp up your boring kitchen floor and create the perfect base for the rest of the kitchen.

Install an island

Now is the time to install a stunning kitchen island where you can make meals on the hob and gain extra cupboard space for the kitchen. An island adds an air of sophistication to any kitchen and you can also install a breakfast bar on the other side of your island to enjoy meals with your family during the week. If you love to host people at your house, this is a brilliant way to do it and you will gain a stunning feature for the room.

Hide your appliances

One of the things you need to do if you want to create a stunning clean looking kitchen is hide your appliances from your countertops. Small appliances such as your kettle, toaster, or coffee machine can be hidden away in your cupboards when not in use and this will free up some space on your countertops as well as ensure that the kitchen does not look cluttered.

Choose a light marble

When choosing the colour of your countertops you want to choose a surface that is simple, sleek, and luxurious looking. White or light marble effect is a popular choice for the kitchen and it will provide you with a stunning look to the room. Clean, sleek, and hygienic – it will provide you with the perfect minimal effect you are looking for in the room.

Add a matte colour

The final touch to any minimal kitchen is your feature wall or cupboard colour. When choosing a paint for a minimal kitchen make sure to choose a matte effect paint as this will give the room a more modern and put together feel. Gloss can get dusty very easily and this will show up more than matte, so it’s better to choose a matte design and save yourself some of the cleaning. In terms of colour, many shades of green, teal, and blue work brilliantly in the kitchen and will give the room and cool and calm effect that it ideal for you and your family.
